About Vitruvian Farms: We are a Certified Organic vegetable and mushroom farm just outside of Madison, WI. Our produce is available at our farm store, through our online store with home delivery options, through our CSA program, as well as at area grocery stores and restaurants. We are aiming to make a positive impact on the world by supplying our community with environmentally-conscious grown food.
The People: If you love food, farming, and relish the feeling of being tired, head to toe, after a great day of work, then Vitruvian is for you! We are looking for positive, motivated individuals with or without previous farm experience. Compensation
Vitruvian Farms has full and part time crew member position openings available for the 2024 season. Full time positions (40 hours per week) start at *$14.50/hour + a full CSA share (until the end of September).
Part time positions (range of 16-32 hours per week) also start at *$14.50/hour + a half CSA share (until the end of September).

Start & End Times
Positions starting as early as April 2024. End times for seasonal work vary between the end of August and the beginning of November.
Responsibilities
Crew members will participate in local, sustainable agriculture through physical, hands on work on our farm. Tasks include vegetable, mushroom and fruit management, greenhouse work, and orchard care. We are searching for applicants who are willing to work indoors and outdoors as needed, work well with a team.

Responsibilities
Mushroom team crew members will work in a small team to produce oyster, shiitake, lions mane, black kings, maitake and other specialty mushrooms. Production style is enriched sawdust block production. Mushroom operations are mostly indoors. Team members help with inoculation, block production, and harvesting.

We are looking for someone with prior experience on a small scale vegetable farm or market garden. Applicant should understand at least some of these basic vegetable growing practices: hand weeding, tilling, washing and harvesting vegetables, cultivating with hoes, transplanting, watering, pruning and trellising tomatoes, etc.
Crew Leaders are overseen by the Field Lead and are responsible for working directly with and managing crew members in the field and pack room to weed, harvest, wash and pack vegetables for a CSA/Market/Wholesale organic operation. Applicant should be extremely reliable and excels at working with and training others.
Position is full time
Pay starts at $17.50/hour** (plus a full share CSA! Value approximately $690)

Must be able to work Monday-Friday. Ideal candidate starts in mid to late April. Position lasts through October for sure, with possibility to stay on through winter to next season.

Start & End Times
Position is open for hire in April for our Thursday Milwaukee wholesale delivery and our Friday Madison wholesale delivery shift. This can be in conjunction with a crew member position.
You will be driving both a refrigerated extended cab van and a refrigerated Isuzu box truck. CDL is NOT needed.
Start time is 8:00am. End times vary depending on size of delivery but will be between 6-8hr shifts.

We are seeking someone for a junior management position on our farm. This position is year round with the opportunity to grow with our business. The Assistant Fulfillment Manager works directly under our Fulfillment Manager to manage our vegetable farm pack house activities, wholesale order logistics, retail farm store inventory management, and helps to manage several farm store and pack house crew members.
Applicant should be extremely reliable as well as enjoy and excel at working with and training others.

Worker Shares (Now Hiring!)
We have several positions open for worker shares this year. A worker share is work trade for a full CSA share (18 weeks of vegetables). The commitment is about 4 hours of work per week, starting 2 weeks before the first CSA box (week of May 15th) . The total hours required over the course of the season is 72, any remaining hours at the end of the season would need to be paid for on a pro-rated basis of the CSA.
The worker shares help with weeding, packaging produce, washing, farm clean-up, packing CSA bins or whatever else needs to be done that week on the farm. You will be working with other worker shares and the farm crew members.
We are offering several 4 hour slots throughout the week.
Monday: 12pm-4pm (FULL)
Tuesday: 8am-12pM (FULL)
Wednesday: 8am-12pm (FULL)
Thursday: 12pm-4pm
Friday: 8am-12pm (FULL) OR 2pm-6pm
